![]() ![]() be sneaky, be clever, and remember to graciously thank the NPCs later by selling their own possessions back to them with a smile. This is not a strong long-term retirement plan. You should be selling your gold on the merchants buy tab. ![]() Press X on your gold to sell it and about a half second later push L1. You can also increase your Sneak skill with ability points and with bonuses on items you find. ![]() If NPCs have a bad habit of looking at you while you're trying to loosen their worldly holdings, a good remedy is to have other members of your party talk to them from the opposite side to distract them and keep them rooted in place, looking the wrong way (drag each character's portrait to detach the chain, so they can act independently remember to re-attach when you're done so they move with you again). but whatever you're liberating, you have to be able to get away with it, and that means being in sneak mode and not being seen in the act. Looting weapons, armor, arrows and potions is also great. Golden plates and goblets are another thing to steal, along with paintings. They aren't using them, and there's no in-game penalty if the deed goes unseen. You can get +4 to pickpocketing with two rings, gloves, and boots. and you can kill him without the other NPCs getting mad about it.You can also pickpocket books.
